With over 20 children and parents in attendance, St. John's Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council hosted their annual Turkey Shoot last weekend. This annual event created a great environment while safely teaching kids archery.

Our local council has sponsored four seminarians this year as part of the Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP) by donating $500 to each as they continue their studies.

With 70+ people at the November Heaven in Your Home event, the family ministry continues to grow at St. John's!

Sir Knight Bill Kalbskopf passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024. Bill was living at the Heritage Hall long term care facility in Leesburg, and several brothers have offered to share pictures here in honor of his time as a Knight and his participation in our council. Please pray for Bill and his family!

Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council hosted Crucified Hart, Relics of the Passion. This event was well attended and featured relics representative of Christ's suffering.

Sweats for Vets will be starting soon. Support a veteran by donating a new sweat suit as a gift for our hospitalized veterans at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. The donation box will be in the narthex; click this notice for details.

Congratulations on a wonderful 10 years for Trinity House! To celebrate this event, EWTN paid a visit to our local favorite coffee shop to tell the story!

The Business Meeting tonight will be ending early (~7:20) tonight so that Brothers can attend the Vigil Mass for the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. No food or drinks tonight for same reason.

On August 10, 2024, the Knights of Columbus enjoyed a day of fried chicken, candy leis, family, fellowship, and good old baseball! Thanks to Brother Matt for putting this event together, Anna for making candy leis for the kids, and Brother Knights Tom, Phil, John, Mark, Joe, Sam, Carl, James and all the family who came out to enjoy the fun! A local groundhog decided to join the Holy Family Council Officers Meeting last Saturday. The creature came right up on to Paul's patio in the middle of the meeting, went under the couch, and then almost jumped in Joe's lap. He did run off just before we could sign him up to handle traffic at Oatlands. No officers were harmed in the conduct of this meeting.

Last week Dave Parent and several Knights from our Council responded to a request from Father Ed to see what we could do to help out a parishioner who had some recent health problems. Read the article to see before and after pics; great job guys!

The Knights of Columbus parked over 300 cars for the Independence Day Fireworks celebration, raising over $6k for our Church and for the Catholic Charities Food Pantry in Sterling. Thanks to all the Brother Knights who helped park cars and secure the grounds!

The Knights of Columbus held our Officer Installation Ceremony on June 26 for the 2024-2025 Columbian Year. The new officers will have their job cut out for them following in the footsteps of PGK Ron Borrego and his team, who led our Council in receiving the Star Award from the Supreme Knights of Columbus organization for the second year in a row!
