The Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council has concluded their Columbian year by giving away donations and awards at their annual Communion Breakfast. Father Kelly kicked things off with an opening prayer. With our Grand Knight, Eric Christoph honoring our priests and Parish Staff at St. John's with some gifts.
Following that, the Knights recognized some local charities and Parish Ministries. Among the charities recognized were Habitat for Humanity, Tepyac, Serenity House, and Mobile Hope. The Parish Ministries recognized were the Youth Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Rosary Ministry, and the Altar Servers.
Next we gave out some of our annual awards. Thomas and Lillian Voorheis took young man and young woman of the year honors, respectively. Brian and Nicole Baker were recognized as our Family of the Year. And Sir Knight Jim Robinson was honored as the Knight of the Year. The day concluded with Deacon Mark drawing the winner of the Fr. Murray Scholarship, which went to Sloane Jeffers.
In addition, the Council Recognized the Bukovac Family as the Family of the Millenium. Sadly, they will be moving down south this year, and as a token of our appreciation for their years of service to the council, parish, and community, the council bestowed this special on honor to them.
The Knights would like to thank everyone in the parish and community for their support as the council continues to grow!
